What Is The Best Setup For Building Non-cheezy Beats?
I’m a rock musician looking to move from my fuzzed-out Casio keyboard to a more powerful setup. I’m looking at doing Gorillaz-esque stuff…I want a setup that allows for me to build both semi-realistic beats and some fun electronic stuff (like NIN). Because this is a new adventure in music, I’m looking to do it for as cheap as possible (in case I decide it’s not for me).
This does not need to be record release-quality, but good enough for a demo and perferably with a keyboard that has solid instrument samples as well (no point in having good beats if your piano sounds like crap).
Any suggested combo works…programs and keys, midi sampler, whatever. Would perfer to come in under $2000.
Thanks!

Your “best Answer” Here Is No Answer, Just A Joke?
MIDI is musical instrument digital interface that communicates things like notes on a keyboard, timing, instrument patch, much like an electronic player piano. When you hit the keys on a MIDI keyboard, it can transmit that info and trigger another MIDI instrument, keyboard or synthesizer, ALSO MIDI can be sent IN to your keyboard and remotely “play” it. That’s why there’s a MIDI “In” port.
