OPPO BDP-83 Blu Ray Disc Player – A Gem In The Blu-ray Field

The OPPO BDP-83 Blu Ray Disc Player may not appeal to users as soon as they hear the brand name as it is not famous like Sony or Panasonic. But this player seems to be far better than those of well known brands regarding he functionality as it offers excellent service and can play practically any kind of disc and not only blu ray.

The price of the device may be higher than the conventional models from Sony and others which most people prefer as the features are comparable to very high end players that cost somewhere around a thousand dollars. This player though comes for a little less than five hundred and is definitely a bargain when the functionality is observed.

The build quality of the player is superior to most of the alternative models and is also heavier when compared. This makes it feel like a sturdy device with expert design features.

The initial set up of the player is so simple that even a novice can do it without the slightest difficulty. The manual of the player is always there in case the user is still not able to figure out how to start making use of the device.

There is a demo mode in the BDP-83 Blu Ray Player that can be used to view a demonstration of VRS video processing technology. The feature splits the screen into two and shows the difference in the quality when the technology is not used and when it is.

The load times are very fast and the picture and sound quality are comparable to none. The player also decodes almost every known method of transferring sound and the user need not buy an expensive amplifier for the same purpose. The unit can also play SACDs apart from all other common formats of discs making it a versatile unit.

The player comes wih a high quality HDMI cable and two professional blu ray calibration discs which is not seen in any other player in its class. If the user does not have HDMI audio capabilities, the 7.1 analog audio jacks are there to support the players decoding.

There should be no problem the user would face with the Oppo player but in case he needs help regarding some issue, the customer service is excellent and help can be expected within minutes even in the form of replies to emails. This is by far the best customer service any player has ever got.

The player can play content directly from hard discs when connected and the standard format is NTFS. But the hard disk has to be converted to FAT32 format before being able to use it with the player and the problem is that it cannot take files larger then 4GB in this format making it necessary for the user to split large HD movies. This entire procedure can be a pain and is therefore a disadvantage. The blu ray and DVD player are region locked and hence cannot be used as a universal device.

The OPPO BDP-83 Blu Ray Disc Player may not be known to many but this product is a gem in the field of blu-ray players. The price of the player is much less when compared what it has to offer.
